Upcoming Toronto Japanese Film Festival 2019

I know, I’ve been so remiss in writing lately. I have so many reviews in my head but I’ve just not processed any; however, I did want to mention the upcoming Toronto Japanese Film Festival this year that I would kill to go to again; however, life isn’t kind this year for me so I’ll just have to live vicariously from those lucky to attend Continue reading

🎶End of the Year Concert with Amber 🎶(2018) ❤️

GONE ROGUE 2018

The best way to end the year is with the best concert (for me) with Amber Liu! I cannot begin to tell you how much fun we had this past Friday, December 7, 2018 at the U Street Music Hall on Georgia Ave. It is an teenie tiny club that I went to for the first time since living in the Northern Virginia area for more years than most of you have been born. It was an honor and privilege to get to see Amber who is just so damn talented and such a personable K-Pop idol! Amber is so down to earth that her fans can feel it just being in her presence. This is the first time since I started going to KPop concerts that any of the female artists have graced our neck of the woods! Continue reading

K-Rap Nights in Washington, DC with BewhY, Mad Clown and San E (2018)

BewhY
Mad Clown & San E

WOW! 2 posts in the same month! I’m on a roll!! Korean rap hit the states with a vengeance last fall, 2017 and this Spring. Both concerts, I was fortunate to attend at the Howard Theater in Washington, DC. The theater is actually nice! My only complaint is when you reach a certain age, standing room only venues are NOT my favorites; however, one good thing that can help with the constant standing is if the music is right and the crowd is excited. Happy New Years to ALL (2018)

I want to take this time to wish everyone a Happy New Year! As we enter the new year, I’m wishing the best for everyone. 2017 had its ups and down as it became clear that I had no time to devote to my blog as I had wished. Between work and the ups/downs of my personal life, I really had no time.

So, will 2018 be any better? Probably not. For work, I have many major projects that have to be completed this year. There is no time allowed to let the schedules slide. Another thing is the sadness we are expecting as my mother’s last remaining younger sister is at the end of her life. Time is really precious and we really need to spend time with love ones when we can. This year also marks the 2 year anniversary of my beloved sister’s death. Again, death is expected but that doesn’t make it any easier to accept.

Regardless. I hope that every has a wonderful and prosperous New Year. I do plan on returning to review at least one movie each month and I still have several blog posts to complete or write. Here are some of those I plan to write…one day:

A Night with beWhy in Washington DC (Concert review)
Best of 2017 Japanese Dramas (Still watching a few so I’m not ready)
Best 2017 Movies (Chinese,Japanese, Korean)
U-Prince Series (What’s Good, Bad, and Ugly)
Taiga Japanese Dramas I’ve Enjoyed in 2017 (Tenchijin, Chuushingura no Koi)
Astro Fan Meet in Washington DC (Upcoming in February 2018)

A Night with KARD (2017)

KARD in Washington, D.C (2018)

You don’t have to tell me how late I am in writing this! I know. After a couple of months of writing performance reviews at work, I was really tired of sitting at the computer/laptop and writing anything at length, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it; however, I promised that I would write something before bewhY concert at Howard University Theater in November. So, with one day to go, here I am. Putting remembrance to blog post. Continue reading

A Night With G-Dragon…..And Some Really Great Friends! (2017)

G-Dragon aka Kwon Ji-yong

Of course I am writing this weeks after my return from Canada. First of all, what a wonderful experience to meet new friends for the first time! Friends that when you get to hang out with them and talk to them, its like you’ve known them for years!! Okay, I digress from the real reason you probably came to check out this blog post. However, my trip, suggested by my new BF Jay to come to Toronto to see G-Dragon was an utter success! Not only did I get a chance to meet Jay but also to see and meet our little maknae, Mawiie after years of talking to her on Twitter, Kakao, and Facebook! In addition, it was a chance to meet another new young friend, Marie! I guess I can consider myself a seasoned concertgoer as this makes my second full concert (BAP has the first honors) and my only fanmeet (and probably my last) with GOT7. More to come for September 2017 when me and my BAP concert buddies do a repeat and we go see K.A.R.D at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. Continue reading

Asian Drama Tag!

Asian Drama Tag!

Hi! I’m taking the Drama tag challenge. Why? Because I’ve been too lazy to write my movie reviews, I’m so far behind but with the staycation coming up this week, I will play catch up! Any bloggers out there, feel free to take up the challenge. I’m following Hayleigh’s challenge. Though I will not just stick with Korean dramas, my focus will be what truly fits. Continue reading

Forest of Secrets: Teaser’s Pros and Cons

You know, I have PURE love for both Jo Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na! It’s like an early Birthday and Christmas gift tied together to have these two in a drama together! I’m so looking forward to it and really hope it is picked up by someone! Hell! I’ll just watch it raw!!!

Dramas With A Side of Kimchi

.;a1a2

Well, this drama is starting off with a huge, beautifully shot, intense teaser that has me itching to solve whatever mystery  Jo Seung Woo & Bae Doo Na are investigating.  It is almost time to start another great weekend TvN drama and Forest of Secrets looks like it will be full of intrigue and gritty politicking.  Just what I like in my suspense dramas.

Movie Monday – No, Just How I Survived My First (and Last) GOT7 Fan Meet

GOT7 Turbulence in D.C January 22, 2017

GOT7 Turbulence in D.C
January 22, 2017

So, as you can see there is no Movie Monday post. Why you ask? Because I’m still recovering from my first and (mostly likely) last fan meet! No, it wasn’t because I had a bad time, I had a wonderful time. No, it wasn’t because it isn’t memorable, it was. No, it’s not because we stood in line, in the rain for 5 1/2 hours BEFORE we were even close enough to get in the building. The major problem is when you’re not of teenage age and you have to be in a venue with standing room only with aggressive and quite rude U.S teenagers, patience and politeness simply don’t exist.
