Tunnel (2016)~Coming to US and Canadian Theaters!

Okay, it isn’t that I’ve been lazy and remiss in writing my movie reviews. My real life hasn’t been all rosy and puppy dog tails. Just when I get in the mood to watch a movie, there just isn’t enough satisfaction to write about it; however, instead of a review, how about me encouraging you to spend some money in support of Korean entertainment!

We so rarely get to see Korean movies coming to the Americas, if you will. Normally it is CJ&E that bless us with a few theater showing; however, Well Go USA has entered into the arena and is bringing us some of the latest. For all you lucky folks here that may/may not have seen Train to Busan, you have this group to thank for it.

Starring:Ha Jeong Woo as Jung Soo, Bae Doo Na as Se Hyeon, and Oh Dal Su as Dae Kyung

Rating: PG-13

Running Time: 127 min

Synopsis: Jung-soo, an ordinary car dealer, is on his way home with a birthday cake for his daughter. As he drives into a tunnel, an unbelievable thing happens; the tunnel collapses on him. Minutes later, he realizes that he is completely caught in between the debris. Outside, this breaking news creates media frenzy and a thoughtless reporter even airs a live phone interview with Jung-soo, using up his mobile phone batteries. An emergency response team is immediately organized to rescue him and as it becomes a national concern, the government promises full support for the rescue.

While Jung-soo struggles to survive, a series of ridiculous blunders delays the rescue operation and threatens his chances to make it out alive. Soon, he runs out of food, water, and phone batteries, making him totally incommunicado. Days pass without any progress and people start to lose hope or interest in rescuing him. Having already passed the longest survival record for a disaster, hard decisions are forced on his family while no one knows whether Jung-soo is dead or alive.

Musings: I really hope you get a chance to watch this one. Based on a true story, this movie will really focus on not only the bad when it comes to news reporters and public opinion when people start to lose their humanity because they are inconvenienced to the good when the rescuers continue their quest to save just one man. Well Go USA has announced that this movie will begin showing August 26, 2016 in the US while expanding its showing in Canada. Here’s the list of theaters: Well Go USA

We really need to support more Asian movies coming here. Without our support, we really can’t complain if the movies never come here! I know I garner my support whenever I can. Though this has been announced as coming to my area, there are no theaters listed yet! But, believe me, if this movie comes especially featuring two of my favorite actors; Ha Jeong Woo and Ba Doo Na, you can believe it when I say that I will be there! No doubt! How about you?

Trailer is available on YouTube Website only.

I’m available on Twitter. Thanks to all of you Twinkles out here who are taking the time to read! If you have a suggestion for a future review, just leave me a comment! I’m always happy to have movie suggestions.
