ON Ijou Hanzai Sousakan Todo Hinako (2016) Episode 3

My first words after the end of this episode was simply: WOW! There is no other way to describe it. Just imagine an episode which exceeds the sheer brutality of the movie Silence of the Lambs (circa 1991) which is the first analogy I can come up with to give you an idea what this episode was all about. Again, this drama is not for everyone! As a matter of fact, it should come with a warning message before every episodes! Forget drama content ratings! This episode alone was way up there in the hemisphere when it comes to the macabre! (For cast and synopsis information see Episode 1) Continue reading

Marathon Worthy – Decoded (2016)

Decoded (2016)
解密 / Jie Mi

This Chinese drama was definitely not on anyone’s radar. I happened to see it pop up while on the Viki website and after reading the synopsis, I had to watch it. The period in which the drama takes place is one of the times which not a lot of information has been told to us here in the U.S. Yes, before you say it, it probably has been sanitized and cleared through proper channels; but life for the Chinese people during the 30-50s is really an unknown period which is why it is so fascinating to watch for me. ON Ijou Hanzai Sousakan Todo Hinako (2016)

There is only one time that you will see me recap a drama; and that is Japanese dramas! No, they are never the popular ones! They are usually the ones that no one is talking and definitely no one is watching. It is my hope that interest in these dramas are stimulated by my enthusiasm in writing about them. ON Ijou Hanzai Sousakan Todo Hinako (On: Special Agent Todo Hinako) is definitely the one for this Summer season 2016. Read on. Continue reading

Year In Review – Best 2015 Thai Dramas I Watched

2015 Dramas

I’ve been remiss in writing this year review for 2015 for one reason alone: It is getting harder and longer to watch quality video and English subbed Thai Lakorn dramas. There has been so many sweeps on my various resources that most of us use or the time that it has taken for the subs to be completed is taking longer and longer. However, until most of us learn the language….so we wait! Continue reading

Japanese Drama Spring Season 2016 – What I Watched! Or What I Had Time To Watch!

Japanese Spring 2016 Dramas

Japanese Spring 2016 Dramas

As I sit here watching a movie that is making me jump left and right, I will try to write my Spring 2016 thoughts for the Japanese Spring season for 2016. This is one of those rare seasons where I truly watched one drama from each of the genres that I like. The thing I like about Japanese dramas is that they are short and sweet! There is no dragging of plot lines and non-sensical stories that normally have me complaining profusely.

The Spring represented some of my favorites coming back to the scene: Jun, Shota, Charlotte, and even Haruka! Another thing that the Spring brought to me was the boys! All the lovely idols boys! Before this spring, I only knew EXILE but now I know J Soul Brothers, DOBERMAN INFINITY, and Kozmic Blue. Here we go! Continue reading
