There isn’t too much regular US television that can pull me away from dramaland; however, there is one show that I never, never miss an episode: Game of Thrones! I have been missing this show like CRAZY!! I am a tremendous fan of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” which will begin its fourth season this coming Sunday, April 6th. The new season is promised to contain the action and story from part of “A Storm of Swords,” the third novel in George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novels.
The last season left us with the Lannisters up and the Starks were down, way down. After the bloodbath of the Red Wedding, where matriarch Catelyn, her son Robb and his pregnant wife were horribly killed; only a few members of clan are left alive. Power never stays in one place (or one family) for too long in the Seven Kingdoms, so while the Lannisters appear to have a lock on the Iron Throne, we know that their dysfunctional family will definitely come to the forefront; that is if the survivors of House Stark don’t get to them first.
However, bloodthirsty Arya Stark might be the one to exactly revenge (here’s hoping)!.
In addition, we will be seeing the introduction of some new characters like the Dornish Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal), the so-called Red Viper who comes to King’s Landing seeking vengeance. But he is not alone.
As cruel King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) prepares to wed Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), Cersei (Lena Headey) has her own grudges (this woman has many) and her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) has returns to the capital city maimed and shaken.
Also, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will be preparing to defend the Wall against a Wildling invasion, and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) continues her conquest of Slaver’s Bay after having freed the slaves of Yunkai.
